Joy of Joys!!!
On Sunday night, April 3rd I finally got it... the letter for JET!!! AND (if it wasn't already obvious) I was accepted! Hooray!!!! So, guys and gals, that means Tina will be shipping out July 25th to JAPAN!!! So all they need now is a letter saying I accept (of course) and a certificate of health. Done and done. The health check up was interesting. I had to get x-rays ( I guess to make sure my lungs are ok?) and a urinary (eww!) and a physical. I'm sure everyone will be happy to know that I recieved a clean bill of health . So tomorrow I send in my stuff and they will let me know where I will be staying later in May. It'll be interesting to finally find out where and whow I will be living and all that stuff. It's kind of strange to think that in a few months I will be in a completely new environment. I hope to adapt quickly! Even more importantly, I really want to learn the language quick! God help me if I can't even order Udon noodles after the first month!
In the meantime, I think I will just be concentrating on finishing classes & graduating. Everything is kind of surreal now. I don't really feel at school (diagnosis: senioritis) but it hasn't really hit that I will be gone yet. I think instead I shall wile away the hours pondering how to spend my tax refund when it gets here! ;)
PS- Did I mention that I saw the JET alum who interviewed me in the Rolfe hall while waiting for my class? It took me a sec and I think he might have recognized me too. A very strange encounter. In case you were wondering, no, I did not flash an "acknowledging" or "thank you" smile or anything like that. Remember... a panel of Simon Cowels! They get no love. Big thanks to Chris L. & Clayton for their letters of rec tho! :D
